Piotr Lisek Grabs Another Win Over a Top Pole Vaulter

By Adam Kopet

Piotr Lisek won the pole vault for the second time in two outings Wednesday at the Springer Meeting in Cottbus, Germany, near the Polish border, according to an event recap from meet organizers.

Lisek, from Poland, earned the win, clearing 19-1.50 (5.83m). Second place went to Sam Kendricks, who finished with a best clearance of 18-11.50 (5.78m). This was Kendricks' first loss since 2016.

Both athletes jumped clean until early season fatigue caught up with them at 18-11.50. However, it was Lisek who eventually prevailed.
